What is the Blueline K9 Program?

Redemption Through Responsibility

Your Partner in Healing
Blueline K9 is a specialized program that pairs trained emotional support and service dogs with law enforcement officers navigating mental health struggles — especially those facing PTSD, depression, or suicidal thoughts.

Structured like our Veteran K9 model, this program is designed to restore balance, strengthen resilience, and offer unconditional support through the power of canine connection.

Serving Those Who Serve

Our Process

Every Blueline K9 participant goes through a structured course that supports emotional healing and handler education. This isn’t just dog placement — it’s a journey toward lifelong companionship and renewed strength.

01

Intake & Assessment

Officers can self-refer or be nominated by therapists or departments. The intake process includes:

  • Lifestyle and mental health screening
  • Compatibility evaluation with potential K9 partners
  • Introduction to the program timeline and expectations

02

Train Together, Heal Together

The 4-week handler course is immersive and supportive. Each officer learns:

  • Bonding techniques and basic obedience
  • Public access handling and behavior redirection
  • High-stress scenario drills (e.g. panic response, crowd movement)
  • Self-regulation and therapeutic coping methods

We walk beside every officer — from Day 1 through graduation.

03

Graduation & Continued Support

Upon successful completion, officers receive:

  • Their certified Blueline K9
  • Gear pack (vest, leash, harness, ID)
  • Ongoing mental health resources
  • 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins
  • Access to advanced handler courses and peer support

This is more than a program. It’s a partnership for life.
